Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom : Winter 2009

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the newest edition was printed and ready for the Seattle Wedding Show last weekend. I knew Sara and Ben’s wedding would be featured and I couldn’t wait to get a copy for myself. We had the pleasure of creating Sara and Ben’s stationery and ‘extras’ for their July wedding last year at Lairmont Manor in Bellingham WA (see the stationery post below!) I ADORE the picture of them on the carriage with our ‘just married’ sign- Sara is absolutely radiant and Ben is adorable. It’s our first printed credit since our debut and I couldn’t be more proud! Here’s to the beautiful newlyweds! 

 

 

Seattle Wedding Show 2009 – will YOU be there?

The Annual Seattle Wedding Show is tomorrow and Sunday, January 3rd and 4th; we’ll be there, will you? I couldn’t be more excited for our first show at the Seattle Convention Center. Our first year is off to a good start (thanks to the first wedding show) and I can’t wait to share our new designs! Pam and David

Pam and David are getting hitched this March! They are getting on a yacht or ‘boat’ as David prefers =) docking off Newport Beach, California and sailing off into the sunset as they exchange vows. For their scheme, the couple chose a combination of bright and dark blues accented by an oceany pattern they fell in love with. Their ‘all in one’ invitation combines invitation with direction card and postcard rsvp that the correspondent easily tears off to mail back- very put together! The package is complete with custom mailing labels that offset the dark shimmery blue envelopes. Yummy! 

Kelly and Ricardo- Engaged!!

I am so excited about this couple’s upcoming wedding! And I am also delighted they chose us to design their stationery package. They are an amazingly fun couple with major style and are doing a retro style wedding. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the cherry red and powder blue color scheme- so trendy! i LOVE baking!

My wonderful mother in law sent me a link this week that I have already bookmarked. If I wasn’t a designer, I swear I’d be a baker. I absolutely love spending time in the kitchen and making tasty treats for friends and family. For the past 5 years, I’ve been baking the traditional goodies my mom baked for us when I was growing up. They include decorated sugar cookies, magic cookie bars, peanut butter bon bons and ’snowballs’ or russian teacakes. This website is the MECCA of all holiday baked goods. From candies to cookies and cakes, this site has every single recipe you could think of. neglect

It’s embarrassing how long it’s been since I’ve posted a new blog. Well the good news is that I’ve been busy working with new clients so I’ll have lots of work to show in the coming weeks!! I am SO EXCITED about some of my newest clients and can’t wait to share their stationery with everyone! Also, I’ve been working on some updates for the website so newer samples will be up shortly. Please stay tuned… I swear my new goal is at least one blog a week. That should be doable right?!

Get Hitched, Give Hope, Seattle’s first non-profit organization aimed at brides, grooms and the wedding industry that is dedicated to raise money for great causes!!

The Event: October 23rd at the newly renovated Arctic Club Hotel

The Goods: Get Gorgeous Goods While Giving Back. Top notch vendors and businesses have donated some great items that are useful for your wedding (and most can be used by anyone, so drag your moms and co-workers over too!). There will be drinks, apps, auctions, raffles.

The Featured Charity: The Making Memories Foundation. They are sort of like a “Make a Wish” for adults, granting wishes to stage 4 breast cancer patients.

Wedding Expo Fall 2008!

whew! I can’t believe the show has come and gone already although I am so glad we got a chance to meet some new faces and start getting our name out there. And, would you believe it- we were the only company representing stationery at the show. I was completely astonished but so lucky for us! We are already penciling in consultations for newlyweds we met and are even quoting packages for other celebrations. Jade was AMAZING help and I am so glad she was there to support us, I couldn’t have done it without her. We have chosen the winner of the drawing and I will be contacting the lucky couple by the end of this month. Can’t wait for the next show in January!!

It seems like a tremendous task to create a detailed seating chart right? Well Martha Stewart has made it easy for everyone… just check out the website under ‘tools’ : marthastewart.com/wedding-tools and you will plan your seating chart in record time! Easy to use arrangements allow you to shuffle guests until your heart is content. Why didn’t this exist when I planned my wedding?!

Hitched!

We had the pleasure of designing the gorgeous wedding invitation and corresponding collateral for Sara and Ben’s wedding last month. Sara had a very specific vision in mind for her ’fairy tale’ wedding theme and we delivered with a tasteful package reminiscent of William Morris’s story book art.

A custom wedding program led guests through the traditional ceremony. We continued the theme into the reception where guests were greeted with escort cards alphabetized under ‘ladies’ or ‘gentlemen’ to keep the old world feel. We designed 5 different table numbers for the over 20 tables the couple arranged. Last but not least a ‘Just Married’ sign carried the newlyweds away on a horse drawn carriage. Congrats Sara and Ben!!!
